Washington DC

Of course, there is nothing more peaceful than sitting on the steps below Lincoln and staring out over the Reflecting Pool and seeing the Washington Monument in the distance. It was beautiful the day we were there; mid to upper 60's w/ the sun shining. I could have definitely sat upon those steps for awhile longer than we did :) That's Justus, Jason & Candy's son, behind Tyler, and the boy to their left in the Louisville jacket is Ryan, Rob's youngest.

The WWII memorial was so expansive and in such a circular form, you couldn't really get it all in one shot and do it any measure of justice. On each side of it's pool w/ fountains was a semi circular structure, one for Atlantic and one for Pacific. A state's name was engraved on each of the individual pillars.

I think the new World War II Memorial at the end of the Reflecting Pool was by far one of my favorites.

The pure reverence inspired by Arlington hit me just as much this trip as it did when we went in 2000.

Me and Tyler in front of the White House....

This is by far my favorite pick of the whole trip! He's actually sitting on Jon's shoulders, and if you look, you can see the top of Jon's head in perfect proportion to the word Gap in his jacket:) Is he not just the most beautiful little boy??!!! The cherry blossums are nice too. We were in the cherry blossom trees on the Potomac in this pic and the Jefferson memorial was just a ways to our left.

I'll post some more pics later!
